"Tongmao" (trade name) enterprise was founded in 1935 in Shanghai, China,by Shi Family on the former Priest Du Road No. 130 (now Yonglian Road No. 130) , the main business was the maintenance of automotive engine cylinders and production of related accessories. In 1940, it was renamed as "Rongchang Automobile Repair Factory". In 1942, a branch factory " Rongchang Machine Factory" was stablished in Wuxi . In 1956, Wuxi Rongchang Machinery Factory was merged into Wuxi Power Machinery Factory (national backbone enterprise). After several decades of hardships and development, in 2002, Jiangsu Kaidi Dynamic Control System Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Kaidi ) was established in Wuxi by Shi Family’s descendant Shi Yongqiang, mainly undertakes R&D and production of various automotive turbochargers, electronic cooling water pumps, as well as to customize intelligent controlled equipments for production and test.

Kaidi locates near the coast of Taihu Lake in Wuxi city, Jiangsu Province,with the total assets over 180 million RMB, the existing plant covers an area of 28,000 square meters including 3,500 square meters of R&D center. Kaidi was one of the earliest turbocharger manufacturers to export to Europe and North America since 2003, and later branded for companies from Global 500. In 2015, Kaidi entered into the domestic OE market and had been listed on over fifteen official announcements as Vehicle Applied Turbocharger Manufacturers to meet National Emission Standard VI . The“double electronic control & double variable nozzle ring structure” invented by Kaidi mainly served for high-power engines, meeting the requirements on the plateau over 5500 meters altitude.The below 40KW powered two-cylinder engine applied turbocharger that developed by Kaidi is able to meet the demands in the areas for more than 2000 meters altitude ,more importantly, engine efficiency was enhanced. After the efforts for over a decade ,the natural gas engine applied turbocharger to meet the request of 850 degree Celcius was successfully developed and had been supplied for more than five domestic OE engine companies . At the same time, Kaidi also undertakes customized mechanical projects for OE or high-precision standards. At present,Kaidi owns more than 300 sets of various manufacturing equipments, including intelligent robotic production lines, complete measuring systems, data storage servers, which is able to manage to control the whole production process.

In 2019, Kaidi had begun to develop vehicle electronic cooling water pump for new energy application, and various intelligent equipments for water pump’s test and assembling . At present, four developing platforms had been built ranging from 9VDC to 750VDC for OE market, related products include regular ones from 25W to 400W and high-pressure versions for 750W/200L/min, 1200W/250L/min.Also more than 100 water pump models had been developed for foreign after markets. Four intelligent test&assembly electronic water pump production lines have been built, with takt of 35-60s/ set for mass production. Meanwhile, the motor production workshop, the controller R&D department and the electronic cooling pump laboratory covering more than 50 independent testing items were established.Kaidi’s ECP series water pumps had been partially passed the validations from the customer, with more than 20 related patents,which is expecting to play an important role to provide the technical supports for higher efficiency and reliabilities and create more demands for developments.

Kaidi is able to develop all kinds of automotive turbochargers (0.7-15L) and electronic cooling water pumps for different power values meeting diversified applications including vehicle or AI computation etc. As to machining capability,the current equipments are able to realize the bore machining to be even within 0.2mm, the maximum machined workpiece can be longer to be three meters,with the Max accuracy 0.005mm, Cpk over1.33. Besides the turbocharger and water pump,Kaidi is also able to customize the intelligent assembly or testing equipments (lines)including humanoid robots, etc.
